FAQ’s

We know that undertaking a landscaping project is a large investment and you may have lots of questions. Some of our most popular questions are answered below, but please contact us if you have anything else you’d like to know.

How much will it cost?

We understand that cost is a key factor when deciding on what work you will have done, and as you can imagine it is not possible for us to give a price range here, as each project is priced based on your bespoke and specific requirements. However, we are confident that our pricing is competitive, and reflects the experience of our team.

How do I pay?

Once you have confirmed you want to go ahead with the project, we will send you a Terms and Conditions document, that lays out the payment structure. As a general rule of thumb, we request payment in two or three blocks, depending on the size of the project.

You can expect to pay either:

3 payments : 45% deposit / 45% mid term payment / 10% final payment + any extras agreed after the job has started

2 payments: 60% deposit / 40% final payment + any extras agreed after the job has started

Do I need to be there while you are on site?

Ideally we would like you to be available for at least the first day so we can discuss the plan for your garden and answer any questions. If you have external power and water then we don’t necessarily need you to be there all day, every day that we are on site. You may find it useful to be around as often as you are able in order to keep an eye on progress and ask any questions that may crop up during the project.

Do you charge for quotes?

No. After you first contact us, we will arrange a date to come and visit you to discuss your project, and measure up the areas. After that we will go away and prepare the quote and send it to you by email, usually within a week. We provide our quotes without charge and with no obligation from you. We are also happy to revisit or discuss other options once you have had the quote, in case changes need to be made.

Do you provide a design?

Our team is very experienced and can certainly offer advice on materials, but we are not designers. However we work very closely with a local garden design team that we can refer you to if required. They will leave you with a sketch drawing that we can use to help us create the quote for you.

What happens to the garden waste?

We have a waste license so will remove all waste from site and dispose of responsibly and in the proper way. We also hire skips for large amounts of waste.

Do you offer gardening services?

Unfortunately not. We are a hard landscaping company and not able to provide a regular garden maintenance of your garden or carry out any planting.

What should I expect while you are on site?

We send out a document prior to starting work with you, that outlines or normal working hours and other things to be aware of while we are on site. Mostly, you should expect that your garden may look worse before it looks better, and whilst we try our best to keep dirt and noise to a minimum, there is inevitably going to be some of that throughout the day. If you have specific requirements then we will work with you to try to accommodate them as best we can.

How long will I have to wait for you to start?

As you may expect, the busiest time of year for us is during Spring and Summer. But we work all year round, weather permitting, and ideally we don’t like to keep you waiting more than 6 weeks between you agreeing to go ahead and a start date being confirmed.

Inevitably during busy periods, this can be slightly longer and as we never know what we are going to find in the ground until we start digging, often we come up against things that may delay us at the job prior to yours, but we will always keep in touch with you and let you know if a proposed start date needs to change for any reason.

What suppliers do you use?

Particularly for paving, we understand that you may wish to see and feel the product you are choosing in person. We use a variety of local suppliers within the Cambridge and Hertfordshire areas, and can recommend the most relevant place you can visit when we meet with you.
